BioKleen Procedure

Overview:

The BioKleen unit is designed for delivering near boiling water to the floor for disinfection purposes. It is used where floors are grossly affected, such as blood biohazard. It can also be used to steam clean concrete floors in fire clean up situations.

Equipment Needed:

  • BioKleen Unit with:

    • Wand

    • Hose (Black)

    • Hot Water Hose: High Pressure

    • 2 Extension Cords

  • Bucket

    • For filling with hot tap water to put into BioKleen Unit

Step-by-Step Procedure:

Operation:

  1. Fill Water Tank with Fresh Water

    • May need to use a bucket. Get hottest possible water from Tub. Hot water is better to start with as it will require less time for the BioKleen unit to heat cold water.

  2. Plug In 2 Cords to 2 Separate Circuits

    • Green light confirms 2 separate circuits.

  3. Use Quick Disconnect; Plug in High Pressure Hose to Front of Unit

    • Using auxiliary quick disconnect in back of Unit, plug into other end of High Pressure water hose.

    • Turn on Main Heat

    • Turn on Auxiliary Heat

    • Place High Pressure Hose in tank, let circulate

      • Turn on Pump

      • Water should be very hot after 15 minutes if starting with hot tap water

      • Remove auxiliary quick disconnect (with cotton gloves)

      • Attach hot water hose to wand.

4. Clean Floor

    • Water spray at wand base should be near boiling.

    • Clean and vacuum excess water.

    • Empty waste tank in toilet.

    • Refill water tank as needed, get it hot as before.

Conclusion:

Near steam temperatures ensure organics are destroyed, and surfaces are clean and disinfected. Debris is taken up with the wand and vacuum, leaving the site clean.
